For the team behind Warrior Brews, an ever-busier schedule with multiple startups to manage meant they needed something a little stronger to make the most of each day. Thus the idea for a new coffee came to be, one that provides sustainable energy rather than just the short spark that comes about from a traditional espresso followed by a crash—something that would keep them going all day with that extra boost. This all led to infusing high quality specialty coffee with MCT Oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides), a natural extract from coconut oil. Inspired by David Asprey’s journey as a serial entrepreneur in creating Bulletproof coffee, Warrior Brews is a similar concept combining coffee and MCT Oil but keeping out the additives of milk, butter and sugar. Asprey, whose personal mission is to live to upwards of 150, is also a proponent of implementing MCT oil into our daily lives.
What is MCT Oil?
Medium Chain Triglycerides are essentially healthy lipids that your body is able to absorb quickly. Once in your body, it turns into direct energy that can be harnessed throughout the day. And these are just the short term effects. This oil is a naturally-occurring substance in ingredients that are known as “healthy oils” like avocado, olive oil and coconut oil. In this case, the MCT is extracted from coconut oil into a concentrated form.
What are the benefits of MCT Oil?
The short term benefits of a daily dose of MCT Oil, as mentioned above, revolve around a sustained energy boost, extra focus and a boost in productivity. However, it’s the long term effects of MCT oil that keep us from missing our daily drops in our coffee. These include: weight loss, a boost to the metabolism, diabetes prevention and more, which have altogether been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease. And for entrepreneurs, who have taken to it more than than any other demographic, it’s the benefits on health and focus that set it apart. MCTs have been proven to repair damaged brain cells, boost brain energy by 10% and delay old age.
MCT Oil with Coffee
Why coffee? That’s the most common question that arises regarding the use of MCT oil. What most people don’t realise is that pure MCT Oil is odorless and tasteless, so you can pretty much put it in any drink or food and not even realize it’s there. Coffee was the obvious choice for the Warrior Brews founders, as they’re avid coffee drinkers themselves. The organic coffee used in their current lineup of brews is premium, specialty-grade Arabica from Dalat. This coffee is brewed by Vietnam’s only national barista champion, Tran Han of Bosgaurus Roastery. The final product? What Warrior Brews’ founders see as one of the healthiest coffees in Vietnam, pairing all-natural MCT oil and no sugar.
More than just coffee
Cascara Tea has recently taken this caffeinated city by storm. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this new fad, cascara is the dried fruit pulp of the coffee bean. It is cleaned thoroughly, then dried and brewed in hot water just like any other tea. The final product is a slightly fruity and tangy, refreshing, slightly sweet brew. Warrior Brews’ take on it, infused with kumquat and honey, works to bring out the natural sweetness for a refreshing final product, with a light dose of caffeine. The cherry on top? 5 drops of MCT oil to boost your hustle.
A boost for all
You don’t have to be David Asprey or Elon Musk to appreciate Warrior Brews coffee; when it comes to the health benefits, anyone can take in its benefits. However, if you are an athlete looking to cut down on the chemicals found in your usual pre-workout drink, this is the product for you—take it about 20 minutes before your workout for the maximum effect. For entrepreneurs looking for that extra bit of focus as well as long-term cognitive benefits, we recommend sipping it throughout the day. For people on the KETO diet, this is the perfect drink to complement your “high fat, low carbs” routine, with all natural ingredients, no sugar and MCT oil.
