From tomorrow Sunday March 15, 2020 Vietnam will temporarily stop allowing visitors from 26 countries in Europe’s Schengen Area and Britain to enter the country for 30 days said the foreign ministry this early morning. The ban is also applicable to Vietnamese nationals who hold passports issued by any of the 26 countries and UK.
Countries concerned: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Visas on arrival for all foreign nationals are also temporarily stopped, said the ministry.
The decision was taken after the Vietnamese government had taken into account the fast and complicated developments of the global COVID-19 epidemic, the foreign ministry said.
The new policy will in effect for 30 days from 12:00 pm Sunday, March 15, 2020.
