In Vietnam, the months of June and July mean lychee. Indeed, this is the best time to visit Bac Giang province in North Vietnam, when the orchards are busy with harvesting the fruits and welcoming visitors to experience the ripest lychee time.
Every summer, although short-lived, the harvest of this delicate fruit is taken very seriously by the locals, and now Hong Giang, Thanh Hai, Quy Son communes welcome tourists to directly harvest the ripened fruits on the trees together with the farmers and enjoy the local specialties immediately. People can even buy fruits there at the price of 20,000 – 22,000 VND (around 1 USD) per kg.
All communes are now providing accommodation service to the visitors.
