When I learned that the second evening organized by Club Food & Wines Bettane + Dessauve would take place on October 1 at the Hoa Tuc restaurant, I said we’re on!

As I can personally attest, the first wine tasting organized by Club Food & Wine Bettane + Dessauve last July at the Hive was an excellent evening for all involved. This concept of discovering good wines (usually over 20) while savoring delicacies and meeting new people is an irresistible combination. And besides, attendees are sure to leave the place feeling triumphant, the heart and the spirit light, having determined the wines we like or not while knowing where to find the product if necessary in Saigon. So when I heard that the second night would be on October 1st at the Hoa Tuc restaurant, I said let’s go!

Since its creation in 2005, Bettane + Desseauve, the wine guide created by the incontestable French critics and references of wine, Michel Bettane, and Thierry Desseauve, has been published every year in French, English, and Chinese and collaborates with major press titles such as Le Journal du Dimanche, Paris Match as well as the Korean Magazine Wine Review. For fifteen years, Bettane + Dessauve has also been the magazine “En Magnum”, the “Grand Tasting Paris“, which has recently been exported to London, Hong-Kong, Tokyo, and Shanghai, and monthly meetings around wine with “The Food & Wine Club.”

As we can see, when the Club organizes parties, they don’t cut corners. For the “Cabernet et Sauvignon” event on October 1, we can expect more than twenty wines (served in Riedel glasses, the international benchmark for oenological glasses), to be tasted endlessly throughout the evening, coming along with contemporary Vietnamese cuisine presented by Hoa Tuc, whose reputation is well established in Saigon. All this and more will be enjoyed in an Art Deco atmosphere, the restaurant itself being located in the courtyard of a former opium refinery.

Whether you are an amateur, a rebellious explorer, a sensual esthete, whether you like floral white wines, or exuberant white wines with exotic fruit notes, or even sun-kissed red wines, you can only be delighted by an evening like this. All the regions and countries of the Mondo Vino will be represented on October 1st in a friendly and sophisticated atmosphere that only Saigon can provide.
