Broadcast on HBO Max, a new season of the series Sex and the City will soon be released with the same cast as the original edition, with only Kim Cattrall missing. In a recent press release, HBO Max (WarnerMedia) announced the preparation of a new season consisting of ten episodes, titled And Just Like That.

This new adventure announces the return of the leading actresses who made the success of the series: Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Created by Darren Star and based on the eponymous book by Candace Bushnell, which was published in 1997, Sex and the City became a staple of the 2000s. Through the character of Carrie Bradshaw, the series followed the ups and downs of four New- Yorkers. After six seasons, two films have emerged, released in 2008 and 2010 respectively, as well as a series The Carries Diaries, focusing on the youth of Carrie Bradshaw.

The cult series, acclaimed for its outspokenness, Sex and the City (1998 – 2004) reveals the tumultuous life of journalist Carrie Bradshaw who, to write her articles, is freely inspired by her sentimental experiences and those of her friends. Fans of Sex and the City will reunite with Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie, who also narrates the story. Actresses Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will stay and take the role of her two best friends. As for Kim Cattrall, who played the awesome and sultry Samantha Jones, she was not mentioned in the HBO press release—and nothing specifies the reason for her absence in the credits.

Sarah Jessica Parker, co-producer of the series alongside Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Michael Patrick King, shared a trailer for this new season on Instagram. The video shows shots of New York interspersed with images from the famous Carrie Bradshaw’s computer screen. “And just like that… The story continues…” she wrote. The release date has not been specified, but filming is slated to take place in late spring in New York.
