Wow! That’s how I want to start this article. What a pleasant surprise! Before leaving HCMC for vacation, I decided to offer myself a Cantonese treat at the San Fu Lou, and I have to confess, it was unbelievable!

We can see what they are cooking, the place is spotless, in fact, they like to call themselves the first Chinese restaurant in HCMC with an open kitchen, which I think is GREAT. Big thanks to these people who work with transparency and create a place where the public can feel safe and relaxed, and eat delicious food.






The service is attentive. They have a different way to take orders: you mark with an x on the paper what you want and the quantities. I found easier this way, and they also serve quite fast.

In San Fu Lou, the food looks colorful, the veggies are crunchy, the meat is cooked to perfection holding all the juices. Even the congee, the comfort food your mom would cook for you when you feel bad is so yummy! No need to say more, although it is open all day long, go earlier, the place gets full quickly, let yourself go and do not be afraid to try something new!
