In a few days in the District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City, at the Villa Song, will take place as part of the « Semaine des Lycées français du monde », a Philo cafe directed by Sylvain Dumont, professor of Philosophy of the International School Marguerite Duras HCMC. The topic: The animal, our equal? For about fifty years, we have been witnessing an extraordinary renewal of wondering about animals. Man is no longer so certain of his metaphysical and moral superiority over “nonhuman animals”. Sensitivities evolve. Is antispecism philosophically serious? What about animal rights? Carnism vs veganism, a ridiculous debate? Here is a great opportunity to be part of the discussion, to ask questions and maybe find some answers!
