Rub a little Whiskey on a baby’s gums, and the pain will go or even better, take a few sips of Brandy to treat your diabetes! Everybody heard about these old home remedies, used because they worked. In the medicinal chapter, Hippocrates already attributed to certain alcohols, purgative and diuretic effects, and the Egyptians even mixed their wine with water for better health! Today in Saigon, with almost 100 medicinal spirits and herbal infusions in its catalog, Maxime Godin-Murphy from Nguyen Shack places Vietnamese medicinal herbs and fruits up to date again. Generous in advice about how to grow them and use them, he opens this week the Eden garden’s doors with his Little Museum of Herbal Spirits and Teas in Ho Chi Minh City, Dist 1.

The opening with free tasting will take place this Saturday 29 July from 2 Pm to 9 Pm – 6/15 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Ben Thanh, Dist 1, HCMC with a tasting of 30 medicinal alcohols infused with Vietnamese plants, flowers and fruits, and a degustation of tea and herbal teas. Spirits will be served by “shot” in a syringe or mixed with sodas or juice. Some creative cocktails will be available on the menu as well.

Take two shots of this alcohol my doctor said and called me in the morning!

« Super tonic combo », « Yin yang combo », « Kidney energy booster combo », « Virility combo », or the « Christmas everyday combo » with grapes, orange, lime, clove cinnamon, star anise, pepper, and ginger, infused in a Kim Son rice alcohol, a high-quality sticky rice spirit, are some of the best decoctions you find at the Little Museum of Herbal Spirits and Teas. Each product comes with a small descriptive note about their benefits. Apart from the medicinal spirits, The Little Museum also propose coffees, teas, essential oils, peppers and alternative medicines.
