Need to boost yourself to better face Covid 19?

Forget misconceptions. Acupuncture needles are not instruments of torture. Far from it, acupunture restores the circulation of energy in our body but also strengthens our immune system and makes us globally less vulnerable to viruses.

Hand sanitizer, face masks, social isolation. All terms that we now hear on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis. We understood that our health is not merely a duty to ourselves but to all of those around us.

However, we hear less about proactive care and the role that acupuncture can play in strengthening the immune system to fight the Corona virus.

The natural healing force in each of us is the greatest force to get better. (Hippocrates)

“Protecting ourselves with barriers such as hand sanitizers and face masks aren’t always enough of a precaution against serious viruses such as the CoronaVirus” explains acupuncturist Johanna Anderson, resident in Saigon.

“Protecting and boosting the immune system is where the real protection and battle occurs. Boosting the immune system makes us less susceptible to viruses overall and allows us to recover from them far quicker and with little serious damage”.

As an acupuncturist Johanna Anderson has been working with clients to boost their immune systems for over 20 years and she also uses other natural means to stimulate it such as cupping therapy, essential oil treatment, Moxa therapy and other remedies from Chinese medicine.

It has long been known that with age or illness, immunity weakens and the body becomes more vulnerable to infection. Many data from epidemiological studies indicate that diet, smoking, sleep, physical activity, stress levels, quality of human relationships and living environment all influence the quality of the immune response.

Health and immunity are therefore closely linked: taking care of your health on a day-to-day basis improves your immunity, and vice versa.

“The ideal would be to do at least one session per week in order to strengthen our immunity” says Johanna. “Acupuncture reactivates the immune cells called leukocyte or white blood cells produced by stem cells, within the bone marrow allowing the body to react quicker and strongly to threats like viruses”.

A wide range of beneficial effects

Acupuncture not only boosts our immune system, but also helps to prevent and relieve a variety of health problems such as musculoskeletal, respiratory, gastrointestinal problems. It also helps to soothe migraines, hypertension, depression, and helps with smoking cessation and weight loss.

In fact, WHO recognizes its effectiveness for forty-three pathologies.
