Refreshed, Saigon starts again to shine. Known for its great restaurants and smart bars, Chefs, restaurateurs, set up new places with cool concepts in this yesterday elegant colonial town, today’s business capital of Vietnam. Here are some of our favorite new spots. Just don’t blame us for the headache tomorrow…
The Racha Room
Address: 105-107 Xuan Thuy, Thao Dien Ward, Quân 2. HCMC
For in-the-know Saigoners, Racha room opened a few months ago a new place in D2, right in the buzzing Xuan Thuy in Thao Dien. The chic decor, like in the Rasha Room in D1, exudes a relaxed atmosphere, making the one in D2 today one of the city’s more popular destinations for sociable dining and drinks. The new Racha Room in D2 has a similar Thai and regional Asian-influenced menu to the original Racha Room, but in a smaller, more intimate setting and the newly launched cocktail menu promises all kinds of crowd-pleasing delights to come.
1 Xa Lo Ha Noi. Thao Dien. Quân 2. HCMC
As you enter the Chill Deck, a charming Café & Cocktail bar in Thao Dien, you hear gentle waves crashing and almost the calls of distant birds. Its unique riverfront location conjures up images of a relaxing breeze from a scenic vacation destination. The interior is soothing, with an azure blue-white decor, sand, rattan, wood, and potted foliage to echo the outdoors. The interior is spacious, airy, and with plenty of light to lend a touch of a Mediterranean holiday vibe. The excellent smoothies and vegan food for the day, as well as the tasty wines and tropical cocktails to sip relax in a magical atmosphere by the river, make the Chill Deck, one of our favorite date night spots for chilling in Saigon. This is definitively the place to try if you fancy something different.
5 Street 54, Thao Dien Ward, Quân 2. HCMC
Nestled within the Thao Dien community in D2, N 5 has lots to be confident about with its minimalist gray décor, black bar counter, and a menu, only accessible by QR code. If you’re looking for a place where you can sink into a leather sofa over an on-point playlist or chat with friends at a picnic table in a puppy-friendly patio, N°5 is not the place. This bar aims to bring people together over a mutual adoration of minimalism, sophistication, and good mixology. Cheers to that!
