Could 2021 spell the return of real fashion shows on catwalks? Surprisingly, Fendi, the Maison belonging to the LVMH Group, announced that its new artistic director Kim Jones will present the house couture collection scheduled for January 27 at the Palais Brongniart, during the Paris haute couture week spring-summer 2021. The collection will not only be the first signed by Kim Jones for the Italian brand, but it will also be the first time that Fendi will showcase a spring-summer couture collection. The details of the show still yet remain secret, including the type of format.
Kim Jones arrived at the head of the Women’s collections last September, where he had succeeded Karl Lagerfeld, in place within the brand since 1965. The British designer had then created a surprise in the fashion world, as he was already holding the position of Creative Director of the DIOR Homme collections since March 2018, where he had presented his fall 2021 in digital format on the Twitch gaming platform. An artistic chaos between technology, physical and digital, here the designer revisited there the rules of tailoring.
