Why Female Entrepreneurs Should Join ‘The Beehive’ Network in Saigon

Do we really need women’s networking groups? Only a few years ago it was said that networking events were ineffective. This view is now outdated, as studies revealed that female founders who are part of a business community are more successful compared to those who are not. In Vietnam female entrepreneurship is important and is growing every day as young women are becoming more and more audacious. This surge in female entrepreneurship has resulted in a need to meet, share, and learn from fellow businesswomen. As a result, several new female-only networks have launched in recent years, to cater to the younger, entrepreneurial generation. Today as a women entrepreneur in Saigon, being part of a network is a need and a way to create an amazing connection with other incredible female founders. That can boost your confidence, give you inspiration, create links, professional opportunities, and even sometimes friendships.

Julie Huynh (co-founder of Rita Phil) and Vivian Story founder of Soul Story Skincare thought that women sharing their skills could lead to some powerful outcomes for a bigger group of people. That’s why they founded The Beehive a collectif bringing together female entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses in quarterly collective pop-up events.

Women in a male-dominated world

Making something from nothing and hoping that someone will pay you for it, is challenging for everyone. However, The Beehive believes that being a woman and trying to do that, is even more challenging. According to Vivian and Julie, the extra level of difficulty comes from the limited support and resources available to women. Most networking events in Saigon are open to everyone but 9 out of 10 times, and 90% of the time it will be visited by men. They believe that it can get intimidating and requires a lot of extra effort to start conversations when you are outnumbered. The Beehive enables female business owners to feel included and supported and most importantly to bring awareness to their business within the community.

Also, all venues for The Beehive pop-up locations are pre-assessed for their comfort level and uniqueness to provide a beautiful backdrop for the event.
