This year for the new year and Tet, an increase of 20% of passengers is expected by airlines compare to last year. To compensate the lack of flights, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority asked the airline’s companies to provide additional flights. From December 26, already 3,000 additional flights were added on 22 airlines in 18 airports. Are Expected 790 additional flights on Noi Bai-Tan Son Nhat route, with Tan Son Nhat-Phu Bai adding 335 flights, Tan Son Nhat-Cam Ranh 324 flights, Tan Son Nhat-Da Nang 262 flights, Tan Son Nhat – Vinh 185 flights, and Tan Son Nhat-Tho Xuan 182 flights. From January 30 to March 4 there will be more than 22,300 domestic flights, with 4.1 million seats, an increase of 15% and 19% compared to the same period last year. At the moment 70% of domestic seats are still available.
Concerning the railways, the Vietnam Railways Company (VNR) launched the opening of six new trains on the North-South line on January 10th. This is one of the new services implemented with a cooperation agreement between VNR and Southern Airports Joint Stock Company Services. Each car is equipped with air conditioning and each seat has a plug to charge electronic devices, a foldable TV under the luggage rack, and a reading lamp. This 10 January the company offered a free meal in the train for the launching of this new event. From the first day, passengers will also benefit from a 10% discount on tickets. In order to respond better to travelers demand during the New year’s period Têt (Mid February), VNR has modernized hundreds of train and placed 60 new vehicles, including 30 five-star wagons. The dining cars were also introduced during new first-class trips. At the same time, VNR continues to offer special promotional programs for seniors, children, disabled people, and veterans.
