The Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, the last concert closing the Ho Chi Minh Opera’s programming of August, organized by HBSO, is a long-awaited event expected by all the Saigon’s aficionado of the Spanish guitar.
It must be said that Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, made in 1939 in Paris, is undoubtedly one of the most popular concertos of all time, thanks in large part to the extraordinary beauty of its central Adagio. Classified as one of the most original masterpieces of the twentieth century, the musical garden of the Concierto de Aranjuez is a hymn to the past of Spain, the royal palace of Aranjuez, the perfumes of magnolias, the songs of birds, and the runoff from the fountains of the garden of Aranjuez.
Led by the conductor of the Rouen Conservatory Orchestra, Claude Brendel, also director of the French Academy of Music, Ballet and Theater and with the participation of the international guitarist Nguyen Thanh Hang who won at 13 years old the special prize FNUCMU, the concert plans to offer beautiful moments in perspective.
A special composition for the vocal music of the French composer Charles Gounod, the famous solemn Mass of St. Cecilia in G Major sing by a choir and three soloists will then close in style this exceptionally poetic evening at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House.
