The annual Paragliding festival themed this year « Flying over-ripening rice fields » held the 23-24 September would welcome more than 100 paragliders from Vietnam and other abroad countries in Mu Cang Chai Dist, northern Khau Pha mountain this weekend. The Mu Cang District held this festival with the Viewing Hanoi Parachuting Club and the Northern Aviation Club since 2012 and attracted every year thousands of visitors offering them an opportunity to experience airborne adventure and breathtaking views of the Khay Pha Mountain. Indeed, The Khau Pha mountain, is about 1,200 meters above sea level, and provides a view of the stunning natural scenery and is rated as one of the four most beautiful paragliding sites in Viet Nam and among the top five most beautiful flying spots in the world.
The Mu Cang Chai District disposes of 500 hectares of rice terraces in La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha, and De Xu Phinh communes, cultivated by the H’mong people for centuries. Residents grow there their rice in terraced fields to prevent water flowing downhill. These local terraces are among the 2,500 hectares recognized as national heritage sites in 2007 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. For both adrenaline seekers and nature lovers, the paragliding festival is the place to be this weekend.
