Beijing is known as one of the most polluted Cities in the world and his air quality is among the worst, according to the Air Quality Index. In a City where Air Coffee shops are increasing when the pollution level is high, the authorities try to find a new solution to fight the smog. This February they announced a plan to build some “ventilation corridors” to blow up the pollution and smog out the City. The principle is simple: build parks, rivers and highways where the air can pass and no high building blocking the winds. Five corridors are planned, each one measure more than 500 meters wide. The municipality has not given any date yet for work to begins, but this solution has already been used in Shanghai. Is this solution really adapted to the situation or wouldn’t it be better to decrease simply the number of cars?
