No need to introduce Alia Bastamam anymore, the one who dreamed since her childhood to become a fashion designer with Barbie as a first client. Although she has become one of the most famous fashion designers in Malaysia, her entry into the fashion industry was not easy. She went from architecture school to fashion, and then left her comfortable designer job in a fashion house and created her own brand in a small shop where she started with bridal dress orders. Today she dresses countless celebrities. Glamorous, timeless, feminine, modern, Alia Bastamam’s aesthetic is drifting between sumptuous fabrics and sleek, clean, stylish cuts that exude subtle sensuality.
A few stars, a little bit of Hollywood, some precious silk, and few rhinestones but a so sleek, sober and feminine line. So was the collection presented this year by Arared. Definitely racy and sublime with her deliberate choice of sylky material for sublimated luxury. Perfect.
Fashion continues to emancipate itself by daring and creativity in colors and materials, as has demonstrated it this year the KLFW. With their label, Zuusaha gives his vision of a very modern man and woman who surf with influences on the sportswear. At Zuusaha we are not afraid of the accumulation of patterns and colors. No need to ask if you would dare to wear this style of clothing, smiling models walking briskly knew they were the coolest.
Behind the Mimpikita brand are three sisters: Nurul, Mira and Syera Zulkifli, the founders. The brand and Shops in England and in Malaysia, record a turnover of seven figures with a social network bringing together more than 120,000 people. From their architect father and their seamstress mother, they have retained the taste of beauty. We find again with pleasure the cultivated style, sophisticated in pastel shades which is their signature this year. A timeless look that retains something reassuring and elegant.
Min Luna is today one of the most recognized fashion gurus in Malaysia. Silky and refined pieces with subtle variations, dress with draped sleeves revealing surprise entanglements in a poetic chaos. This is the universe of Min Luna: chic, cool, stylish and wearable, breaking stereotypes and which adopt your curves, whatever your size.
The two sisters behind Ghaania form a close-knit duo. Ellynur favors pastel shades and girly details with a hint of grunge, while Illi prefers fluorescent and bright colors, combined with distinctive patterns. Their personal influences are evident in the selection of colors and fabrics that embody every piece of the Ghaania 2018 collection. The result is amazing: a gentle and benevolent fashion where the calm combines luxury and voluptuousness with materials, patterns, and notes more acidic and modern. A perfect symbiosis.
A must this season, the look « luxurious Adventurer” was everywhere. We find it express in Private Stitch in a daywear/sportswear and tailoring collection full of simplicity. But simplicity is sometimes complicated to get and there is a real work in the Private Stitch collection where a certain minimalism collaborates with a game of subtle proportions and with a layer overlay of various materials in a falsely random disorder. There is some geometry in the air, and the harmony of colors becomes there squarely a science.
