The Heart Institute Gala, A glamorous caritative evening!

This year, The Heart Institute Gala CMI in Saigon will be held on October 7, 2017, at the Park Hyatt Hotel Saigon. The first edition of the Heart Institute gala in Saigon happened seven years ago in 2010, to support deprived children suffering from heart diseases. The idea? Organize a charity dinner every year for the benefit of these needy and abandoned children. Over the years, this dinner has become a reference in term of charity gala. All the influential people of the moment are there! The event has grown to such an extent that it can’t be overlooked. For 28 years, the CMI and the Alain Carpentier Foundation have played an essential and decisive role to raise the necessary funds to finance the growing demands of deprived children needing heart surgery. This mission started in the 80’S when Professor Alain Carpentier the eminent French cardiac surgeon, was asked to develop cardiac surgery program for the high number of children suffering from heart diseases in Vietnam.

Then was the creation of the Heart Institute of HCMC in 1992. It was the first establishment which could treat heart conditions in Vietnam. Very soon, it appeared that the families of a lot of children could not afford the expenses of the operations. A Social Department at the Heart Institute was therefore created to cover the cost for poor patients along with CMI well known high international standard medical center established as an outpatient clinic that reverses all its profits to the Social welfare department of the Heart Institute. For more than 20 years, 4.200 children have been saved but today 30 000 Children are still waiting in Vietnam to receive the cardiac surgery that can save their life. The good thing about children suffering from heart diseases is that they can have one operation and be cured for the rest of their existence.
