BA students showed off their creative talent!
It was more than just the usual “End-of-year show” last Saturday, 9th of July 2016, that was the 4th fashion show of the Hoa Sen graduation class. Since 2007, Hoa Sen collaborates with Mod’Art International (Paris-based International Fashion School) and aims to offer a four years course for a comprehensive understanding of the fashion design process, encouraging the development with strong conceptual and technical skills for success in the fashion industry. The show took place at their campus in HCMC. The jury composed of professionals from the fashion industry, press and VIPs selected ten student collections. It was a pleasure to receive the French Consul Mr. Emmanuel Ly Batallan on the front row that day.
Bành Nhật Duy, Nguyễn Đức Thiện Tâm, and Trương Vũ Diễm Thương particularly grabbed the spotlight – winning 1st prize, 2nd prize, and “Coup de cœur du jury” (Jury Award) respectively.
The 1st Prize winner Bành Nhật Duy ‘s collection “La Muerte” found his inspiration in the Mexican goddess of death. Combining the technology of the machine and the hand made embroidery, Bành Nhật Duy has shown the creative aspects of industrial and craftsmanship works. The jury describes it as modern, sensual and exotic in a playful way.
The collection, “Feuille Morte” got the second prize. Nguyễn Đức Thiện Tâm took his inspiration from the harvest season and the Thanksgiving celebration. A tribute to family, this collection is all hand embellished, with technics coming from home décor.
The “coup de cœur du jury” and 3rd Prize was given to Trương Vũ Diễm Thương. “Variances” is the performance of a mixture of art experiment with colors highly inspired by food styling. This collection uses neutral tones as a canvas and spices it up with acid and vivid colors. Once again congrats to the winners!
