Over six decades, Fred Perry remains one of the few brands having remained true to its origins by keeping the original Fred Perry polo shirt at the forefront of its collections.
The brand has an instantly recognizable logo – the laurel wreath that as has adorned Fred Perry clothing since its inception in the 50ʼs, an authentic heritage – within sports and music history.
Originally designed in the 60s, the knitted sport’s shirt bridged the gap between life on and off the tennis court. Moving on from the formal styles of previous decades to the modern but smart style we know today.
Something dedicated to her: The latest Amy Winehouse/Fred Perry collection remains rooted in the unique and unforgettable image of sportswear and pin-up silhouette. Each piece is signed off with two love hearts above the embroidered Laurel Wreath, this being a reference to Amyʼs tattoos. Henry Hate, Amyʼs friend, and tattoo artist paid tribute to the music icon with an exclusive design for the collection tattooed onto the fabric. Henry explains, “Iconography for this particular design was inspired by one of the last times when Amy was in my shop. The bird represents someone who has well travelled or a free spirit. That was Amy”.
This summer FRED PERRY Authentic Shop opened at Takashimaya Saigon Centre. The store is located at Level 3, Takashimaya Vietnam, Saigon Center 65 Le Loi Blvd, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1. Standing on 71 square meters, the shop is a nice example of Industrial style, featuring subtle touches of brick walls, steel plates, and industrial concrete finishing.
